The overall aim of this learning webinar is to generate public support to DRR initiatives, especially those with strong community and grassroots leadership, and ensure that these are pursued with proactive attention given to children’s rights, gender equality, and social inclusion.
Specifically, the objectives are to:
- Learn the basic concepts and principles of DRR and Resilience-Building in Multi-Hazard Settings and know the current trends and community-led innovations;
- Appreciate the need for multi-stakeholder engagement in DRR and generate concrete ideas especially those applicable at community grassroots levels, yet scalable, on how to pursue cooperation in this area among the CRC Asia network and constituents; and
- Come up with ways of enabling cohesion in integrating children’s rights, gender equality, and social inclusion into DRR advocacy and practice.
Topics will include basic concepts, principles, and current developments on DRR and Resilience-Building in Multi-Hazard Settings; grassroots-led innovations; integrating child rights, gender equality, and examples of successful multi-stakeholder and multi-sectoral DRR initiatives – including collaborations of civil society, government, and the private sector.
